Soccer Mum Maternity Style: Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham looked beautiful as she watched her youngest son Cruz play football in park in LA this weekend.

For some soccer mum’s walking in 6in Louboutin’s on grass is a no an easy tasks, but VB has been doing this for years.

The mother-to-be has worn mostly black through-out her pregnancy, so we shouldn’t be surprised to see her wearing black again on this occasion.

Her black suede Louboutin ankle boots were paired with black leggings, a sheer cardigan and a black top which covered her growing baby bump.

There have been reports that Victoria is due to give birth on July 4, and that the family will return to the UK after that when David’s LA Galaxy contract runs out.

I think the LA lifestyle has very much suited the Beckham’s, so I was surprised to learn that they will be returning home permanently – if that is indeed true.

Hannah Montana: The Movie Paris Premiere

*Sighs*

Miley Cyrus just can’t seem to get this red carpet this quite right. She’s like a roller coaster. One minute she’s up, next she’s down, and it’s all very confusing.

Last night she was in Paris, the fashion capital of the world, for her Hannah Montana: The Movie premiere.

Of her whole European promotional tour, this has to be my least favourite look.

She wore a Dolce & Gabbana printed halter-neck dress, which I really don’t like on her.

That neckline is so unbelievably fussy, there’s too much going on, plus the length of the dress feels quite awkward.

I found something similar, simpler an shorter on Sarah Coggles, which may have worked better for her.

Hopefully she will get to redeem herself before she travels home.

Gianvito Rossi: It Runs In The Family

Being the son of Sergio Rossi, Gianvito Rossi has something of a footwear pedigree. But rather than grow under his father’s brand, the Rimini, Italy-based designer decided to strike out solo. He’s built his own eponymous line at a deliberate pace; after launching in September 2006, Gianvito gradually developed his brand into a worldwide presence. In the U.S., he’s carried at Barneys, where his ongoing collaboration with Joseph Altuzarra has been turning heads. While in New York for the week, Rossi spoke with Style.com about his design DNA and his overarching concept.—Bee-Shyuan Chang

Having grown up in the footwear business, do you think your style is different from your father’s?It’s different in a way, but it takes a lot of the DNA. I’ve worked for my father since I was 17, so it’s very much in me. I think what changes is the point of view. You mix your experience with the ideas and concept. Is there an overarching concept? The shoe is really more a frame than a piece of art. Some designers may think this way, that it’s more art. For me, the piece of art is women. We’re making something that’s really an accessory. On the topic of women, is it gratifying to make a beautiful shoe for a woman? There’s great satisfaction and especially when you see them pleased to wear it. Sometimes, I see a woman who wears sky-high heels and maybe she’s uncomfortable. It changes her mood and in the end is stressful for her. But when she wears a shoe she likes, her whole way about her changes. It’s not only about looking at the shoe then, you can see it in her face. You work with Joseph Altuzarra on the footwear for his line. How did you two originally link up?Joseph called me because I was suggested by some friends. At the time, I was in my third collection and I had structured the company step by step, and it was the first time that the production was going very smoothly. He was starting his fashion show and I thought he was a nice guy, so why not? We’ve been collaborating for two and half years now. He’s really a nice guy to work with and I think the designs are looking strong.

Haute Joaillerie For Hollywood

Fresh from its debut at the Couture show in Paris, Louis Vuitton’s newest L’Ame du Voyage bijoux collection by high jewelry artistic director Lorenz Bäumer landed in Los Angeles last night for an exclusive preview. “This is the city of lights and Paris is the City of Light. Los Angeles has always been very appreciative of jewelry,” Bäumer relished, arriving with his new L’Escale à Paris collection strategically, just in time for celebrity stylists and editors to check it out before the climax of awards season. “Our world is a very visual world, and at the top of that visual world are all the incredible movies and the imagery and the fantasy that is created in L.A.”As for their place on the red carpet? “I’m creating jewelry and I always like to say it’s about dreaming, making people dream, and somehow this perfectly links with what happens in Hollywood.” The L’Escale à Paris collection was designed with Paris in mind (of course). Inspired by Bäumer’s interpretation of the city’s most iconic sites, each piece is informed by his sensory experiences. The Champs-Élysées is conveyed as an image of Paris at night, with red traffic lights on one side with white baguettes running down the length of the other side of the necklace. His other pieces, in finely crafted gestures, convey the fountain of the Place de la Concorde with a light-reflecting tassel of sapphires and diamonds and emeralds that signifies a walk along the Tuileries. Bäumer’s conviction as a designer remains creating jewelry for “special women who live all their different lives,” which seems apropos of the Oscars’ leading ladies and their many roles.—Alexis Brunswick
